Richard T. Carratu
Richard Carratu is a Managing Director and has worked in the finance industry since 1985. He joined Prospect in 2010. Richard is responsible for originating, executing, and managing investments across a variety of industries, including financial services, distribution, manufacturing, food, and healthcare. He is also responsible for managing many of Prospect's relationships with private equity sponsors. Richard has invested over $2B while at Prospect and successfully exited several transactions. He serves as a director on the boards of Echelon, First Tower and Credit Central.
Prior to joining Prospect, Richard worked in GE Capital's Structured Finance Group from 1998 to 2010, most recently as a managing director where he led a team focused on originating and executing high yielding asset-based and cash flow debt financings. Prior to joining GE, he worked at the Polish-American Enterprise Equity Fund, where he managed a portfolio of investments. Prior thereto, Richard served as a vice president and chief financial officer of Joseph Littlejohn & Levy Investors, a New York City-based private equity firm, where he helped evaluate, execute, and manage various middle-market investments. He began his career at Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), where he held several positions, including senior manager in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group.
Richard received his BS from Long Island University School of Professional Accountancy and his MBA from Columbia Business School, graduating with honors. Richard is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
